The Children’s Services Council of Martin County (CSCMC) is an independent special taxing district established in 1988 with one mission: to improve the lives of children and families in Martin County. Created through Florida Statute 125.901 and formalized by Local Ordinance #348, CSCMC is dedicated to identifying community needs, investing in effective programs, and creating positive, lasting outcomes for our youngest residents.
This authority was made possible by the voters of Martin County, who approved CSCMC’s taxing power by referendum in November 1988 with 62% support, and later reaffirmed their commitment in 2014 with nearly 77% approval.
CSCMC serves as a dedicated funding source that supports a wide range of programs focused on children’s health, early learning, family support, youth development, and community safety. We work in close partnership with local agencies, schools, and organizations to ensure that services are available and accessible to those who need them most.
We don’t just fund programs — we evaluate them, strengthen them, and ensure they align with data-driven priorities to make the biggest possible impact.
