
This position search is being led by Executive Service Corps- Florida on behalf of our client, Wayside House.
This is an exciting senior management opportunity to lead the newly created finance department at a highly well-regarded, successful nonprofit addiction treatment program serving women in South Florida.

About the Position
Reporting to the CEO, this newly created role offers significant latitude in shaping the position, including hiring and delegating responsibilities. We're looking for a leader who thrives on the challenge of improving processes and is eager to help define and build SOPs from the ground up. The Director of Finance will be a member of the Wayside House Executive Team and will be responsible for interacting with the Wayside House Board of Directors, particularly the Finance Committee and Board Treasurer. Wayside House operates with an annual budget of approximately $6 million.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial systems.
Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors, providing analysis and recommendations as needed.
Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and other reporting requirements of funders.
Manage relationships with external financial providers such as auditors, banks, and accounting service providers.

Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
3 to 7+ years of progressive leadership and/or management-level experience in finance
Experience with QuickBooks or related systems is a plus
Experience working in a nonprofit setting is preferred
Demonstrated strong analytical skills
Successful candidates must be able to pass a level 2 background screening and drug test
Pay Details and Benefits
The Director of Finance is a full-time, exempt position. The starting pay range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 DOE. Benefits for this position include a bank system of Holiday and accrued PTO hours semi-annually. New employees receive prorated Holiday hours based on their start date. Additionally, PTO accrual increases with tenure, starting at 67.5 hours in the first year and reaching up to 180 hours annually after seven years.
Medical insurance begins after 90 days, with Wayside House contributing a portion based on plan rates. After 90 days of employment, employees are eligible for dental and vision insurance at their own cost. After one year, Wayside fully covers group life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance. Employees can contribute to a 401(k) at any time, and after one year, Wayside contributes 3% automatically and matches up to an additional 2%. Aflac supplemental insurance is available at the employee’s expense.
The possibility of hybrid work may be possible after the department is established.
