Job Summary: The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing counseling services as well as social skills, academic, and behavioral support to clients on an individual and group level.
Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling services including individual and educational group sessions.
- Complete individual and family assessments to allow for accurate identification of treatment goals.
- Complete a Treatment Plan for each client within 30 days of admission that contains behaviorally defined treatment goals focused on socially significant issues in the clients and family’s life.
- Collaborates with clients to develop plans to positively manage and respond to issues; assists clients with replacing unhealthy or dysfunctional behaviors with healthy choices.
- Complete all required reports thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
- Provide appropriate treatment modalities based on the culture of the family.
- Enhance and develop social skills for individual clients based on the expectations of
the environments they are functioning in.
- Meet with Clinical Director weekly for supervision of all families on caseload—with all paperwork current and completed.
- Maintain the required number of billable hours per week as required by this position.
- Model the appropriate use of positive reinforcement across all environments with clients, families, and co-workers.
- Assist in strengthening parent-child interactions through parent education and the development of positive parenting skills.
- Attend regular staff meetings, clinical staffing, in-service training, and other meetings as required.
- Maintain a dependable, punctual work schedule appropriate to the needs of the program.
- Work well independently and self-initiate job responsibilities as required.
- Ensure all required training courses are kept current.
- Participate in continuing education and share knowledge with other team members.
- Keep supervisor fully informed of activities, pertinent issues, and upcoming events.
- Adhere to established safety procedures and practices in the work area.
- Maintains compliance with ethical codes and standards.
Physical Responsibilities:
1. The ability to operate an automobile. Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
2. The ability to drive to other locations as needed:
a. Main office located in Jensen Beach.
b. Remote office located in Okeechobee.
c. Counties Served: Martin, Okeechobee, St Lucie, Indian River
3. The ability to verbally communicate with students and co-workers.

Computer, laptop, fax/copy/scan machine.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in psychology, Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling.
- Experience in either:
· the practice of Applied Behavior Analysis.
· the field of mental health.
· the field of education.
· Preferred current state license in Counseling/Therapy.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Thorough understanding of human behavior, various behavioral and affective disorders, and the diagnosis treatment, and rehabilitation of these disorders.
