The Adult Day Care Manager (ADCM) assists the Director of Program Operations (DPO) in maintaining a high standard of quality services in the Adult Day Care Center(s). He/she shares the responsibility for ensuring all aspects of the programs (training areas) meet ethical and professional standards and promote optimal program participant progress. Must report deviations to Program & Services Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinates and monitors, on an on-going basis, the training activities provided in the Adult Day Care Center (ADCC) programs, and reports concerns to DPO.
Is first point of contact for potential ADCC program participants. Assesses the individual; reviews all requirements and ensures all admission requirements and paperwork is completed prior to enrollment.
Monitors program participant activities and gives staff technical assistance in areas such as assessment, curriculum development, use of materials and equipment, and management of client behavior.
Supervises staff service delivery as related to program participant training activities and program development and implementation in the Adult Day Care Center(s).
Develops monthly activities calendar in conjunction with DPO.
Evaluates teaching techniques and recommends changes for improving them. Monitors progress toward improvement; keeps directors and other supervisors informed.
Assists other supervisory staff with supplies, equipment and visual and other instructional aids in order to ensure meaningful day activities for individuals diagnosed with dementia.
In conjunction with management team, conducts workshops and in services for staff to study new classroom procedures, instructional materials and other aids for teaching related to dementia.
Ensures that individual program participant service needs are being met; coordinates care with other providers, if necessary.
Provides Alzheimer's and Dementia related training on a regular basis, and as required by AHCA.
Participates in community organizations, support groups and gives presentations as needed to promote activities of the Adult Day Care Center. Engages in marketing activities to increase Key Elder Care membership.
Directly supervises staff working in the Adult Day Care Center (Key Elder Care) and evaluates staff performance at least annually; monitors timesheets, etc.
Develops weekly schedules for staff according to attendance and ratio requirements. Conducts interviews and hires regular, part-time and relief staff as required.
Maintains program participant files for Adult Day Care Center, including admission paperwork and supporting documentation for service delivery.
In conjunction with DPO, ensures that all regulatory and licensing standards for Adult Day Care Center are met.
Monitor and report participant progress on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis per prescribed forms and procedures.
Intervene on a formal and/or informal basis with participants exhibiting maladaptive behaviors. This includes responding with least restrictive strategies, conducting data collection and reviewing incidents through an interdisciplinary process in order to determine appropriate interventions.
Ensure constant supervision of program participants with known tendencies to wander or attempt to leave the immediate area. Assess program participants routinely to determine if this type of behavior becomes an issue.
Instruct and monitor instructional assistants in the delivery of activities based on each participant's interest and ability. Ensure that assistants are properly supervised and interacting with program participants and otherwise carrying out duties in the respective manner. This includes reviewing and retraining staff level of understanding of program design. 
Responsible for providing 1 hour inservice training per month to assigned staff. Will be responsible for tracking inservice hours for respective staff during the calendar year.
Communicates daily with Key Kafe to ensure dietary needs are met for participants attending. Oversees the order of meals and snacks as needed.
Supervises and assists, as needed, with program participants during lunch to ensure safe eating and interaction with others.
Supervises and assists, as needed, with program participants' tasks of personal care (toileting, bathing, clothing changes, etc.)
Oversees staff as needed to clean work areas, including rest rooms. This may consist of washing dishes, laundering clothes, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning surfaces, cleaning toilets and sinks, emptying trash, etc. Assists with these tasks only on an "as needed" basis.
Maintain a consistent and punctual form of communication with each program participant's caregiver regarding observed changes in health condition, necessary supplies, and upcoming events.
As the Medication Administration Professional, oversees the dispensation of program participant medications according to doctor's orders and documents same; ensures staff dispensing medications are properly trained and validated.
Communicates (verbally and in writing as per procedure) to DPO and other parties unusual incidents that occur related to program participants.
Ensures the timely procurement of materials and equipment as needed for activities through the requisition process.
Maintains the staff to client ratio for supervision. Works the floor as needed.
Performs other essential duties as requested or required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises day care assistants in Alzheimer's/Dementia classroom and/or Adult Day Care Center.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
Bachelor's degree in mental retardation, vocational rehabilitation, special education, occupational therapy, psychology or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. In lieu of education, year for year experience may be substituted.
Two years' experience in rehabilitation or in an educational setting for developmentally disabled persons. Two years' experience working with elderly population and/or educational background related to Alzheimer's and other memory disorders. Experience supervising/managing other personnel preferred. Behavior Assistant certification a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certification in Behavior Analysis preferred.
