About the Johann Fust Library Foundation
"The Mission of the Johann Fust Library Foundation is to maintain and preserve the buildings
and gardens of the library while providing a literary and cultural center for the residents and
visitors of Boca Grande."
The Foundation owns and maintains all the original library grounds, gardens, and buildings, as
well as the fine collections of artifacts and rare books. Throughout the year, the Foundation
sponsors many of the events and presentations that take place at the library.
The Lee County Library System provides library services. Professional library staff manage the print, audiovisual, and digital collections. They provide computer assistance, e-clinics,
circulation, reference services, and presents story time for children.
The Johann Fust Library Foundation was formed in 1948, and it was renamed with a new charter on April 26, 2012. Before 2012, the Johann Fust Library Community Library was one of two libraries operating on the island, the other maintained by the Lee County Library System. After several years of planning, negotiating, and renovating, the Board of Directors of the Johann Fust Community Library formed a partnership with Lee County and entered into a unique public/private relationship.
We are excited to offer this position, Associate Manager of Programs and Facilities, to
support our Executive Director, our Board, and our current team of staff and volunteers to help
our organization be sustainable for many years to come.
The JF Library Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) private operating foundation. Donations are
tax deductible.
