EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
FEBRUARY 2026
THE OPPORTUNITY
Community Dental Clinic (CDC) is seeking its next Executive Director to lead an organization that provides access to high quality dental care to low-income or uninsured Pinellas County residents. The successful candidate will have exemplary leadership skills and significant practical experience motivating and leading a team-oriented, mission-driven organization. The Executive Director will work alongside the Board of Trustees and leadership team with the goal of empowering staff and volunteers at all levels within the organization to recruit and retain partners, donors, and staff to expand CDC's mission of providing access to quality dental services.
ABOUT COMMUNITY DENTAL CLINIC
In 2009, access to dental services was identified as the number one unmet social service need in Pinellas County. In 2011, united with a shared vision for providing affordable dental services, The Salvation Army, Clearwater Free Clinic and Arc of Tampa Bay collaborated to establish the CDC. In 2013, the clinic opened its doors to the community supported by the donations of gracious individuals, foundations and organizations, and the commitment of dedicated dental and non-dental volunteers. To date, CDC has served over 4,000 patients.
The CDC is an independent nonprofit organization and is driven by a mission “to provide compassionate, comprehensive dental services, education and access to dental care for the uninsured, low-income adults of Pinellas County.” CDC offers urgent dental care and comprehensive dental services including exams, x-rays, cleanings, fillings, root canals, and extractions for adults in our community who do not have dental insurance or the financial resources to access the care they desperately need.
In 2023-24, CDC launched a capital campaign, “Your Smile, Your Health,” a major milestone in the clinic's growth. Thanks to the substantial support of Ruth and J. O. Stone Foundation and generous community donors, CDC made significant progress toward building a state-of-the art facility that enhanced the ability to serve those in need. Without access to care, treatable dental issues can lead to serious overall health problems. CDC's goal is to improve the dental health and quality of life of our patients, reduce the number of missed workdays, and preclude unnecessary ER visits.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director serves as the principal organizational leader responsible for advancing the mission. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director provides strategic vision, operational leadership, and oversight of the clinic's core programs and services.
The Executive Director is responsible for moving the CDC from the development phase to growth in areas of leadership for the clinic, sustainable revenue streams, service excellence, and community impact. This includes fostering a strong internal culture, building external strategic partnerships, leading fundraising efforts, and advocating for access to quality dental services.
