POSITION SUMMARY:
Resurrection House is a Faith based day center for the homeless located in downtown Sarasota, FL. Under the supervision of the Client Advisory Specialist, the Client Advisor works to build relationships with clients experiencing homelessness, provide advocacy, and assist with connecting individuals experiencing homelessness with services and housing. You must have previous experience working with individuals that are experiencing homelessness. You will meet with clients interested in developing a Housing Stability Plan which may include shelter programs, employment, budgeting, healthcare, and recovery, which support a resolve to their homelessness. You will work collaboratively with Suncoast Partnership and all members of the Continuum of Care serving Sarasota and Manatee County and enrolling in the coordinated entry queue for rapid rehousing and permanent housing referrals, and identifying clients that may have been previously assessed and referred by the coordinated entry system.
This is hands-on, front line work with the homeless, in a Faith based setting. You will be able to make a positive impact in helping people put a plan together to exit homelessness.
Hours are Full-time, 6:30am -2pm Monday through Friday, no weekends or major holidays. Great work/life balance. Compensation is $26 a hour. This position is very stable and is internally funded.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Complete an Oneby1 Access Point Assessment and Vulnerability Index Service Prioritization and Decision Assistance Tool (VI- SPDAT) to place clients in coordinated entry queue. Meets with clients experiencing homelessness and confers about obstacles preventing participation in programs and identify means of overcoming those obstacles. Assist clients experiencing homelessness with accessing resources and making appropriate referrals; continue to engage with unsheltered homeless clients until shelter or permanent housing is obtained. Assist clients with housing applications, complete supportive and subsidized housing paperwork, survey rental market for affordable housing, and advocate for clients with prospective landlords. Maintain computerized client records, daily activity logs, and other reports as directed. Develop a relationship with clients through frequent meetings to foster trust building and supports participation in programs. Encourage and support client participation in activities and events that increase ability to remain linked to care and/or behavioral health care, identify employment options or cash benefits, and identifying housing options. Research community resources that help clients experiencing homelessness. Provide advocacy for homeless clients when they encounter barriers. Assists with the planning and implementation of services that meet the clients’ needs to become stably housed. Identify proper permanent housing options for clients, such as subsidized housing Section 8, VASH, permanent supportive housing, affordable and market rate housing, and other housing opportunities. Attend Continuum of Care Case Management meetings. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MUST HAVE A HEART TO HELP THE HOMELESS. Only team players will be considered. Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field preferred with a minimum of two (2) years of case management experience or 5 years of experience of employment serving in a homeless response system preferred. Knowledge of available community resources. Effective communication skills.

We see over 1,000 different homeless individuals each year and help between 80-110 people daily by providing a safe day room, showers, laundry, clothes, meals, and connection to available housing resources. Once the individual is stabilized we work to help people exit homelessness.
